Pope Benedict XVI signs document giving priests worldwide permission to say the Latin Mass using the 1962 Missal.

Local Bishop has no right to forbid the Latin Mass in his diocese.

Cardinal Zen of Hong Kong said he saw the official document being signed. The Holy Father is expected to issue a document motu proprio (on his own initiative) which will address the concerns of A various traditionalists,@ said the CNS source who asked not to be named.

Other sources told the Register that the motu proprio will be published in November, probably as part of the long anticipated post-synodal document on the Eucharist.

Rome= s Il Giornale newspaper reported Oct. 11 that the decree would allow priests to celebrate Mass in Latin without having to seek permission of local bishops.

A source close to Benedict confirmed the Il Giornale report saying he could issue the document by the end of November in a bid to heal a A rupture@ between Church tradition and the modern worship that has come in the wake of Vatican Council II.

Benedict= s Perspective.

Benedict has a long-standing commitment to renewing liturgical Latin. During his tenure as prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger repeatedly emphasized that it was a mistake to claim that Vatican II had cast aside the liturgical use of Latin.

A This is another of those cases, which are all too frequent in recent years, where there is a contradiction between, on the one hand, what the council actually says.... and on the other hand, the concrete response of particular clerical circles,@ Cardinal Ratzinger said in his 1985 book length interview, A The Ratzinger Report,@

Vatican II Council= s 1963 constitution on the liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium (Sacred Council), states clearly that A the use of the Latin language is to be preserved in the Latin rites@ (No. 36).

In 1984, Pope John Paul II first made it possible for groups of the faithful to worship according to the old rite under certain conditions. In 1991, the Vatican established more generous guidelines encouraging bishops to grant permisssion and retaining just one basic condition: that those seeking the old Mass form must also accept the validity of the new rite; the Novus Ordo (New Ordinary of the Mass).

Traditionalist Institute.

Pope Benedict= s other recent action with respect to the Latin Mass B the creation last month of a new institute for former members of the Society of St. Pius X B has been welcomed by traditionalists but caused controversy in France and possibly changed the nature of Vatican negotiations with the society.

With a papal decree issued Sept. 8, the feast of the Birth of Mary of Joaquin and Anne, four priests and a seminarian who once belonged to the Society founded by the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre became the founding members of the Good Shepherd Institute in Bordeaux, France.

This new association allows the priests to return to communion with the Church and celebrate Mass according to the 1962 version of the Roman Missal. (We sell this Missal for $310.00).

The priests will use their own parish church of St. Eloi but they will not be able to celebrate the 1962 Liturgy anywhere else in the diocese.

The Vatican says the institute has been established as a A pastoral measure@ and will have a trial period of five years.

Cardinal Jean-Pierre Ricard of Bordeaux said A the Pope himself made the decision@ as part of a process of reconciliation.

Chilly Reaction.

The Society of St. Pius X is opposed to liturgical and doctrinal changes of Vatican II, and its four bishops were excommunicated in 1988.

Archbishop Lefebvre consecrated four Society of St. Pius X bishops in 1988, in direct violation of the orders of Pope John Paul II. With that act, Lefebvre and the four bishops excommunicated themselves from the Catholic Church. The Vatican declared the ecclesial disobedience an act of schism.

Two of the priests who have returned to communion through the Good Shepherd Institute, Abbot Philippe Laguerie and Father Paul Aulagnier, fell out with Bishop Bernard Fellay, superior general of the Society of St. Pius X, in 2004.

Both priests were unwilling to return to the society or celebrate the Novus Ordo Mass in normal use in the Latin Rite Church today, so a body such as the Good Shepherd Institute was the only option available for them to regain communion with Rome.

The St. Pius X Society response to the Good Shepherd initiative was chilly. In a Sept. 8 statement, it said that A it cannot accept as its own a communitarian solution in which the Tridentine Mass would be confined to a special status.

The statement added, A The Mass of a 2,000 year old tradition must possess full and entire rights of citizenship within the Church. It is not a privilege reserved for a few, but a right for all the priests and faithful in the universal Church.@

The society also pointed out that the establishment of the institute is not unprecedented, pointing out the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, the Society of St. Jean-Marie Vianney in Campos, Brazil and the Institute of St. Philip Neri in Berlin.

When reports emerged about Pope Benedict= s plan to encourage the celebration of Mass in Latin, the St. Pius X Society reacted much more favorably.

A It= s an important first step@ toward reconciliation, said Fr. Marc Nelly, an aide to Bishop Fellay. He noted, however, that that group considers the celebration of Mass in local languages incompatible with the use of the Latin Mass.

> Outstretched Hand= .

Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos former prefect of the Vatican Congregation for Clergy and head of the Pontifical Ecclesia Dei Commission set up by John Paul II to facilitate the return to ecclesial communion for Pius X members, told 1 Media news agency Sept. 21 that the creation of the Good Shepherd Institute was A accomplished under the sign of reconciliation of full communion.@

But reconciliation with the society as a whole, Cardinal Castrillon said, was a very separate reality. A They are on different levels and require different paths,@ he said.

In an Oct. 6 statement, Cardinal Ricard of Bordeaux indicated that the purpose of the institute was specifically to lay the foundation for possible reconciliation.

A The decision must be placed in relation to the desire of Pope Benedict XVI, which he has expressed several times, to offer a gesture of welcome with rspect to those who followed Archbishop Lefebvre,@ the cardinal said. A The Pope knows that through history and as years pass, schisms harden and the chances for reconciliation diminish, each following their way.@

Said Cardinal Ricard, A The creation of this institute is therefore a sign of an outstretched hand, of an invitation to overcome suspicion and to start a dialogue in a more fraternal spirit.@

Based on info from CNS, RNS, Register and Edward Pentin in Rome. A

Since so many Catholics have ceased attending the bland Novus Ordo Mass, it is expected that many older Catholics will return as will many who have turned to Protestant denominations for spiritual nourishment not realizing they had abandoned the Seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church which alone grant Divine Grace into their souls.

Inavale, Nebraska Schoolhouse for sale for $25,000.

Our request for financial help and advice produced only a one line comment that: Florida is Doomed which was of no help. The school is 85 by 35 feet, two story brick built in 1930's. It is 7 miles from a small town and 46 miles from Hastings which has stores such as Walmart. Our 24 page tabloid publisher in our early days is nearby and is much cheaper than our Florida printers.

We are forced to keep publishing an 8 page newsletter which we can print at home and mail a few at a time as the Nebraska printer requires us to pay for the printing and mailing all at once which is impossible due to very low income from this publication. If we were in Nebraska, we could have the 24 page tabloid printed, bring to schoolhouse, label ourselves and then mail when money is available.

Since we have no savings, we will leave this building in abeyance until the owner sells it or we come up with $5,000 to use for a down payment and moving expenses. The owner has been holding it for us as we owned it 1987-1990.

We here in Ft Lauderdale barely passed our yearly housekeeping inspection wherein we were forced to toss out a lot of furniture, boxes, & packing materials for books but we were not forced to destroy any Catholic publications this time. If you can help us get this schoolhouse, please send the help to: Children of Mary; PO Box 350333; Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33335-0333. Our phone or fax is 954-583-5108. U.S. Comptroller Warns That U.S. Dollar will Collapse Sooner or Later.

David M. Walker is head of the Government Accountability Office an investigative arm of Congress that audits and evaluates the performance of the Federal Government.

Basically, that makes Walker the nation= s accountant-in-chief and his professional opinion is that the American public needs to tell Washington it= s time to steer the nation off the path to financial ruin.

What politicians do not talk about this election season is a dirty little secret everyone in Washington knows. The secret is that the vast majority of economists and budget analysts agree that the ship of state is on a disastrous course and will flounder on the reefs of economic disaster if nothing is done to correct it.

The collapse will come when the 1947 on era baby boomers begin to retire soon and the continuing recklessness of borrowing money from foreign lenders to pay for the operation of the U.S. Government.

Economists of both political parties accompany Walker on his nationwide tour to warn America. Their basic message is this: If the United States Government conducts business as usual over the next few decades, a national debt that is already $8.5 trillion could reach $46 trillion or more adjusted for inflation.

A hole that big could paralyze the U.S. economy. According to some projections, just the interest payments on a debt that big would be as much as all the taxes the government collects today.

And every year that nothing is done about it, Walker says, the problem grows by $2 trillion to $3 trillion. When Reagan became President in 1981, the U.S. debt after 192 years of functioning was less than $1 trillion. After some surpluses in the 1990's the deficit returned in 2001 but it hasn= t grown dramatically relative to the size of the economy.

But thats about to change, thanks to the country= s three big entitlement programsC Social Security, Medicaid and especially Medicare. Since medical costs are increasing at least 10% a year Medicare and Medicaid have grown progressively more expensive as the cost of health care has dramatically outpaced inflation over the past 30 years, a trend that is expected to continue for at least another decade or two.

And with the first Baby Boomers becoming eligible for Social Security in 2008 and for Medicare in 2011, the expenses of those two programs are about to increase dramatically due to demographic pressures. People are also living longer which makes any program more expensive that provides benefits to retirees.

Medicare already costs four times as much as it did in 1970, measured as a percentage of the nation= s gross domestic product. It currently comprises 13 percent of federal spending. By 2030, the Congressional Budget Office projects it will consume nearly a quarter of the budget. Economists J Gokhale of AEI and Kent Smetters of the Univ of PA. estimate that by 2030 Medicare will be about $5 trillion in the hole, measured in 2004 dollars.

By 2080, the fiscal imbalance will have risen to $25 trillion. And when you project the gap out to an infinite time horizon, it reaches $60 trillion.

Some economists think health care reform rather than budget measures is the best way to attack the problem.

Social Security is a much less serious problem. The program currently pays for itself with a 12.4% payroll tax and almost 16% self-employment tax and even produces a surplus that the government steals every year to pay other bills. But Social Security will begin to run deficits and ultimately would need an infusion of $8 trillion if the government planned to keep its promises to every beneficiary.

Why is America so fiscally unprepared?

Like many of its citizens the United States has spent the last few years racking up debt instead of saving for the future. Foreign lendersC primarily the central banks of Communist China, Japan, South Korea and other large U.S. trading partnersC have been eager to lend the government money at low interest rates, making the current $8.5 trillion deficit about as painful as a big balance on a zero-percent credit card.

In her part of the fiscal wake-up tour presentation, Rogers tries to explain why that= s a bad thing.

For one thing, even when rates are low a bigger deficit means a greater portion of each tax dollar goes to interest payments rather than useful programs.

And because foreigners now hold so much of the federal government= s debt, those interest payments increasingly go overseas rather than to U.S. investors.

More serious is the possibility that foreign lenders might lose their enthusiasm for lending money to the United States. Because Treasury bills are sold at auction, that would mean paying higher interest rates. And it wouldn= t just be the government= s problem. All interest rates would rise, making mortgages, car payments and student loans costlier, too.

Blessed Virgin Mary Warns of Dollar Collapse.

Mary said at Bayside Apparitions 1970-1994 that there will be actions taken by the U.S. government which will cause the dollar to collapse so that if you want to buy a guitar, you will have to fill a suitcase with notes to pay for the guitar. We will then be reduced to bartering for our food and all goods we want as the money system will be worthless.

The trade deficit U.S. has with other nations is about $6 trillion a year which is lessening the dollar value also as nations consider transferring to the Euro for their deposits.

We are advised to store canned goods and bottled water, blankets, candles, warm clothing for future wars and financial collapse.

How can we stop the terrorism and war in the world immediately? How to stop Russia training and arming Muslim terrorists by doing what the Blessed Virgin requested at Fatima in 1917. Stubborn world refuses to follow her instructions. Mary speaks:

A When I came to Fatima many years ago, I knew that communism would go throughout the world destroying many nations and attacking My Son= s Church. Therefore, I made a promise that if the Pope, the Pope of those days and the Pope today, would unite with all the bishops of the world, all together on one dayC not the worldB but the bishops and the Pope will unite and pray for the consecration of Russia. I do not mean the world, My children: I mean RussiaC Russia, the scourge of mankind. You will pray for Russia. One day must be allotted in which the Pope and also all the bishops of the world must unite on one day, I repeat and pray for Russia or Russia will continue to be the scourge from God. Russia will continue to go throughout the world annihilating people and places and countries.@ Our Lady, October 2, 1987.

Russia is organizing all the terrorism in the world. They have a six month terrorism training course, bringing radicals from all over the world and training them in terrorist techniques. Some of the men trained in Russia are: Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, Yasser Araphat, Daniel Ortega, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad (born Sept. 11, 1965) Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, Iran= s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad etc.

Russia has military advisors in every Muslim nation who buy billions of dollars of armaments from Russia with U.S. petrol dollars.

Eighty-five percent of all the Muslim Mosques in the United States are the Wahhabi sect of Islam, a virulently anti-Christian and anti-Jewish version of Islam. Al_Queda terrorists in Iraq and worldwide as well as the 9/11 hijackers were all Wahhabi Muslims. Our government is financing the training in Saudi Arabia of 200 Islamic chaplains for our U.S. prison system where Wahabbi clerics have great success in converting black inmates.

A The battle, my child, will accelerate very shortly, for there will not only be a great war of weapons of mankind, but it will be known, soon, throughout the world as a religious war. It will be the war against the Antichrist, who is here now!@ B

Our Lady, August 21, 1974.

Global Jihad: Lifting the Veil on Islam.

Over the past century there have been three giant movements which have emerged to shake the foundations of the world: the rise of communism beginning in 1917 and ultimately controlling one-third of the world= s population until it declined in 1991; the rise of the Nazi Third Reich in 1933 which engulfed the world in a war which ultimately consumed 55 million lives; and the rise of the radical fundamentalist Islamic fascism which began in 1980 when the Ayatollah Khohmeni and the Islamic fascists took power in Iran.

Of these three gargantuan movements the one which may pose the greatest threat to the survival of Western Civilization, to Christianity and all other religions and to America is the present explosive expansion of radical Islamic fundamentalism and its incendiary religious doctrine of world conquest by the sword or the bomb.

There is a new book from Regnery, hb, entitled The Truth about Muhammad, Founder of the World= s Most Intolerant Religion, $24.95, by Robert Spencer which is based entirely on Islamic sources. Muhammad born in Mecca April 20, 570 or April 26 according to Shites felt that he was possessed by Satan so was terrified. His doctrines were borrowed from Judaism, Christianity and Zoroastrianism. There were Christians in Arabia and many Jewish tribes in Mecca who had a lot of interaction with Muhammad.

When he was about forty years old, he had dreams while praying in a cave which his relatives guessed may have been from the Angel Gabriel. Muhammad could not read or write but for the next twenty three years he would relate his dreams and visions to his followers who would write them down on whatever was available. After his death these dreams were collected into the Qur= an.

At the beginning Muhammad regarded his spiritual encounters with considerable agitation. He suffered much pain and his face turned dust colored. He wondered if he had been demonically possessed and even contemplated suicide.

After leaving the cave he returned home trembling to his wife Khadija and said, A Cover me!@ They covered him, till his fear was over, and after that he said, A O Khadija! What is wrong with me? I was afraid that something bad might happen to me.@ And he repeated to her his initial fears: A Woe is me poet or possessed.@ He meant A poet@ in the sense of one who received ecstatic, and possibly demonic, visions.

Khadija went to her cousin a Christian priest Waraqa who said that Gabriel came to Moses and now Muhammad. Khadija decided to test Muhammad as to whether his visitors were demonic or not. When he had a spiritual visitor, Khadija tried sitting in all kinds of positions to see if the visitor would leave but only her taking off her clothes caused the visitor to flee.

Muslim hardliners to this day insist upon the veiling of women because of, among other things, this underlying assumption: the sight of an unveiled woman is so distressing, so deeply sinful, that it causes even the angels to flee.

Without the care of Khadija who remained Muhammads= s only wife until her death and the affirmation of Waraqa, the priest, the world might have never have known Islam. Soon after Waraqa identified the being who had appeared to Muhammad, the priest died. The Prophet he had effectively anointed was again plunged into a despair so intense that he again contemplated suicide. As we shall see, Muhammad was often frustrated by skeptics of his preaching, with eventual dire results for them.

His story is a long one and very scary and not very inspiring so if you knew his life story, you would not find surprising the current murders of fellow Muslims by other Muslims in Iraq.

That is why the Pope wants a discussion of Faith that must be rationally explained that would accord with the nature of God. Christians explain God by reason whereas Muslims do not.

Muslims only mention the Will of God not his rationality. Allah wills this or that. No matter how irrational if Allah thru Muhammad says slaughter unbelievers, it is permitted. That is why atrocities can be religious acts in Islam, the world= s most violent and intolerant religion. Also, there is no biblical type examination of the Qu= ran to see if all the verses belong in the Qu= ran.

Muhammad= s new religion started with dreams which he thought may have come from Satan. Joseph took Mary as his spouse after a dream, fled to Egypt after receiving that order in a dream, returned from Egypt after a dream stating Herod had died, Three kings returned home by another way after being warned in a dream.

Dreams can be true or just nonsense that resulted from eating rich food. Some dreams I, the editor, have had are as follows: Laetare Sunday, 1993, I was in Alaska in a dream when I decided to return home to Florida thru Kansas City when all of a sudden, a big deep voice intoned loudly; A Return to California!@ I woke up immediately so remembered the dream. We did not have any funds to return to California then or now. One friend here said, A You know what that dream means? You must go to Alaska before you return to California.@

When I was young, I had dreams of the night being illuminated by a comet as large as the sun so that night became day. I then floated just above the ground going everywhere I wanted inspecting tremendous damage everywhere. There were almost no people left living.

Another dream used to scare me. I would fall from a great height holding my breath and when I hit ground I would wake up. That is a nightmare but was lived by real people in the 9/11 attack when people on the 101st floor of the World Trade Towers jumped out and fell to their deaths on the sidewalks below.

Blessed Virgin Mary explains Death & Heaven.

Death comes when you feel like you are fainting. A great light pulls your soul from your body and then you feel like you are passing through a long tunnel at the end of which is a great light where you are judged by beings you can not see due to the bright light. If you are condemned to Hell, one of satan= s demons who is nearby is allowed to take possession of you and take you to Hell. If you are sent to Purgatory, your Guardian Angel takes you there which can be as terrible as Hell but at a minimum you feel mental loss and spiritual suffering.

Mary said Heaven is a real place like the earth and is located a short distance from the furthest star. To get to Heaven, you must leave your body. Some apparitions have told of Angels on earth bringing a palm tree to Heaven to plant there. Other apparitions have told of your relatives greeting you when you are on one side of a river. They ask you to cross the river and come to be with them in Heaven.

Do Not Forget Pope John Paul I.

The news media as usual miss the truth often times. Such a shocking murder by Cardinal Jean Villot who gave the Pope a champagne glass with the agent that killed the Pope. Most medical experts think the Pope was given digitalis in the champagne glass which causes the heart to stop beating.

Cardinals Villot, Benelli, and Casaroli ruled the Church from 1972 to 1978 keeping Pope Paul VI drugged and utilizing the best plastic surgeons to place an Italian actor to appear as the Pope. The actor was murdered in 1978 as was the Pope as the plastic surgery was unraveling.

The three Cardinals planned on electing Benelli as Pope but they fell about 3 votes short and John Paul I was elected as a compromise.

There is a website that has the pictures of the Imposter and the Pope, voice analysis of the Imposter and the Pope and the story. The web addresses are below.

The Imposter Pope Websites by J.A.M.

Paul VI has a straight nose while the Imposter has a crooked nose. The placing of the ear lobes on the Pope and Imposter are different in relation to the nose. Voice analysis by machines show the voice patterns of each person are different when uttering the same words in Latin.

When the plastic surgery was first done in 1972 the Imposter looked very close to the real Paul VI except for the hooked nose of the Imposter and the placing of the ear lobes in relation to the nose.

Mexican Haters Lose Political Power.

Republican Congressional leaders made very negative comments about Mexican immigrants on the southern U.S. border which rivaled the Know-Nothings of the 1880's who attacked Catholic Immigrants. The election dethroned these leaders so that now President Bush= s plan to have a process wherein immigrants can gain eventual citizenship within eleven years will probably be approved by the U.S. Congress. Plus, money to build a 700 mile Berlin Wall on our southern border will probably not be funded.

WHAT= S IT ABOUT - The Register is examining 20 U.S. dioceses with the largest elementary-school populations.

HISTORY - To improve the quality of religious education, the U.S. Bishops= Ad Hoc Committee to Oversee the Use of the Catechism, which was formed in 1994, began reviewing textbooks in 1996.

AT ISSUE - In the past, textbooks have been found to be deficient in 10 fundamental areas: the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, the magisterium, Christian view of man, an emphasis on God= s action, not man= s, grace, the 7 sacraments, sin, Christian morality and eschatology (the last things-death, judgment, hell, purgatory, heaven).

WHAT WE= VE LEARNED B Cleveland, Detroit, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Trenton use textbooks in conformity with the Catechism when it was reviewed last November. Cincinnati was not. Trenton, Newark, Milwaukee, Buffalo, St. Louis, Baltimore, Miami and Brooklyn are partly in conformity, but outdated and other nonstandard texts sometimes remain in the hands of students. St. Paul/Minneapolis recommends but does not require approved texts.

WHAT= S THE HOLDUP? B Diocesan officials fail to clearly communicate and enforce policies, some publishers are continuing to sell older and/or unapproved texts for a variety of reasons, some catechists prefer familiar or popular texts and others reject textbooks in favor of designing their own programs,

Arizona Bishop Warns Politicians.

PHOENIX B Catholic politicians who publicly support abortion, euthanasia and same-sex A marriage@ A jeopardize their own spiritual well-being,@ and should not receive Communion, Bishop Thomas Olmstead of Phoenix says in a new booklet.

Entiled Catholics in the Public Square, the 45 page booklet includes 29 questions and answers about the separation of church and state, anti-Catholic discrimination and Catholic participation in public life. Published in English and Spanish by Basilica Press, it is intended as the first in a A Shepherd= s Voice@ series.

Bishop Olmstead said there are some issues on which Catholics may disagree with the hierarchy such as the just-war theory or capital punishment.

A Despite these examples there are other issues, such as abortion and euthanasia, that are always wrong and do not allow for the correct use of prudential judgment to justify them,@ he wrote. A It would never be proper for Catholics to be on the opposite side of these issues.@

When Catholic politicians support those issues in opposition to Church teaching, they become sources of scandal and are A materially cooperating in grave sin.@ the bishop said.

A Then the politician cannot receive Holy Communion without previously making a good confession,@ the booklet said. A A good confession would require sincere sorrow for such sin and a firm purpose of making amendment. Since the harm done would be public in nature, the amendment should also be public.@

Quoting Pope Benedict XVI, Bishop Olmstead said three political issues are A not negotiable@ B the protection of life at all stages, the promotion of marriage as the union of a man and woman, and the protection of the rights of parents to educate their children.

He added, A I should note however, that other issues, while not intrinsically evil, deserve prayerful consideration, such as questions of war and capital punishment, poverty issues and matters relating to illegal immigration.@ CNS.
